In Bagnols-sur-Cèze, the League against Cancer and a new Resource space for caregivers have set up in the municipal premises of the former tourist office.

The Bagnolese branch of the League against Cancer, until now tenant of premises on Place Mallet, has moved to new municipal premises renovated, at 2 avenue Léon-Blum, where there was the tourist office. A vast, bright space of 128 m2 meeting PMR accessibility standards (people with reduced mobility) equipped with a reception lounge, a room reserved for psychosocial care, or even a workshop space… shared with the new Caregiver Resources service.

"This space for caregivers is a one-stop shop initiated by the Department to inform, guide, create a directory to list what exists… because the route is very complicated. It complements what already exists, such as the hospital's caregiver platform" underlined Wednesday, June 12, Michèle Fond-Thurial, assistant to solidarity, during a visit to the premises. "I am very happy that this space is shared".  If the facilitator of the Caregiver Resources area is already here, it is in September that the one-stop shop will reach cruising speed.

"Everyone is delighted!"

A pooling of space, but also a complementarity of services. "We have caregivers of people with cancer" indeed recalled Nina Ehrmann, head of the League for Bagnols-sur-Cèze, delighted with this move. "Everyone is delighted!" she thanked the mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Jean-Yves Rosary who stressed that welcoming the League in suitable premises "was close to his heart".

"The city is hosting us for free in these premises, before we rented. The money saved will be useful to patients, we will offer more free supportive care and more providers" explained Wednesday Doctor André Mathieu, president of the departmental committee of the League against Cancer, present for this visit. "Supportive care is essential for patients. Here, we will receive the sick in good conditions" he appreciates. "Gthanks to this rent saving, we will be able to finance three more speakers !" rejoices the head of the & rsquo;Bagnolese antenna.

The Caregiver Resources space will be officially inaugurated on September 24, during Carers’ Day which will take place on Lacombe Boulevard.
