No increase in tax rates for the city of Frontignan

Le rapport d'orientation budgétaire a été au menu du conseil municipal de Frontignan mardi 6 février.

The tax rates of the city of Frontignan will remain as they are for 2024. This is the option retained by the municipality which mentioned, via Caroline Sala the deputy of finances, the budgetary orientation report Tuesday February 6 on the occasion of the first session of the year of the municipal council (1).

Net savings on the rise

In a context of inflation, even if it is less significant, of increase in the bases and the index point, the City "continues its financial work on five axes", specified Caroline Sala, namely "control of operating costs, ;#39;optimization of revenues, the maintenance of tax rates for the seventh consecutive year, the permanence of investments and the stability of the stock of debt". This policy made it possible, despite the conditions, to generate net savings of 3.4 M€.

Investment increased to more than 11 M€

For 2024, with a balancing loan of 2.3 million euros; "within the framework of a sincere but prudent budget", commented the deputy, the capacity of&# 39;investment is increased to 11.6 M€ with the ambition to carry out the following projects: the renovation of the Aire room, the road action plan in the Lierle district of La Peyrade, the completion of the eighth tranche of the central urban boulevard between rue du Carignan and square du Muscat, the continuation of the rehabilitation of the city center, the continuation of the construction site of the cultural center, the creation of the footbridge between the center and the 180-space car park planned on the site ;#39;former Mobil wasteland, the continuation of the energy sobriety plan.

Major construction site in Terres Blanches

Scheduled for 2023, the extension of the Roger-Michel crèche will finally take place in 2024 since there had been difficulties with the project manager. In other projects, there is also the major construction site of the Terres Blanches school (thermal insulation and waterproofing of the courtyards), studies on the future development of the Mobil wasteland and the creation of the new station and finally the construction of a reception area at the Ferrari gymnasium.

After asking for some clarification on a few points, Gérard Prato, the leader of the opposition, noted with pleasure that the municipality's net savings were positive. "Under the old mandates, I sounded the alarm because'it was negative".< em> "Let's stop looking to the past, let's look forward to the future", replied Mayor Michel Arrouy.
