Ordered by the public prosecutor of Montpellier, the autopsy performed on the body of this 87-year-old Montpellier resident, found dead on Friday October 11 at around 8am, near the entrance to the Bionne travellers' rest area, to the west of the city, tends to confirm the suicide theory.

Indeed, no traces of violence were found on the victim's body. The hypothesis of drug absorption now seems the most plausible. But only the result of the toxicological analysis, which is pending, will be able to confirm it.

What is certain is that the search carried out by the national police in the unfortunate man's home allowed them to get their hands on a farewell letter. As for the absence of several rings noted during the examination of the body by the medical examiner, it is not the result of a post-mortem theft, as was once suggested. All the jewelry was found in the victim's apartment.

Did he die in his car ?

The fact remains that there are still some gray areas. Like the disappearance of his car. While the vehicle's papers were strewn on the ground, near a trash can, this Friday, October 11, the car itself was missing. We can assume that it was stolen on the day of the tragedy.

The investigation is continuing to determine this and to establish, also, in what circumstances his body was found at this location. In other words, did he get out of his vehicle by himself or did malicious third parties, having discovered him unconscious, move him, before fleeing with his vehicle ?
