On average, 15% of Gard police officers will be mobilized for the Paris Olympic Games, announces the prefecture

Leave restrictions will be imposed.  The prefecture announces a presence rate of 100% of police officers in Gard, from July 24 to August 11, 2024.

According to the Gard prefecture, on average, 15% of the total number of Gard police officers will be mobilized for the period of the Paris Olympic Games. These personnel will be made up of national police officers from Nîmes, Alès and Bagnols-sur-Cèze. The peak of mobilization is planned for July 22 to 25 inclusive. The reinforcements of the national police coming from Gard will not exceed "however by 20 % of the departmental workforce" , specifies the prefecture.

Holiday restrictions

Leave restrictions will "imposed on police officers during the summer period", it is specified in a press release. There should therefore be "the same attendance rate at 100 % from July 24 to August 11". And to add: "despite the sending of Gard reinforcements for the Paris Olympic Games, the services therefore remain able to ensure the security-related missions. The interdepartmental direction of the national police also retains all of its reservists throughout’ of this period.
