Colorectal cancer: time to "assume the throne"

#DENGUE – This is the number of reports of dengue cases in Occitanie in 2023. With 211 cases of dengue and 3 case of chikungunya, between May 1 and December 8, 2023, it is, according to Public Health France, the 3rd region affected by dengue in mainland France, behind Île-de-France and Auvergne-Rhône -Alps. Three of the nine centers of autochthonous dengue transmission identified in France were located in Occitanie: in Perpignan (11 cases), in Gagnières (Gard, 9 cases) and in Montpellier (3 cases).

Trèbes attacks: appeal from the prosecution

Extensive pedestrianization in Montpellier

#WORKS –After the Arceaux district, the Esplanade de-Gaulle, the Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance… Montpellier continues its objective to restore its place to pedestrians in the city center and therefore limit the use of automobiles. The next project, with delivery scheduled for this summer, concerns the extension of the pedestrian zone from the south of Place de la Comédie to Place Saint-Denis to the south and the railway tracks to the southeast. This extension will put an end to through traffic, i.e. 7,000 vehicles per day. Bollards will block access to cars, but will allow local residents and emergency services to pass.

The new life of the airport platform

#NÎMES – Thursday February 29, in the terminal of the Nîmes Grande Provence – Méditerranée airport, Jérôme Bonet, prefect of Gard, signed the transfer agreement, by the State, of the airport platform, with Franck Proust, president of Nîmes Métropole. The Nîmes Agglomerate will recover around thirty hectares, of which more than eleven will be marketable with 50,000 m2 of runway-side hangars. "This land gives us the right to build up to twelve buildings along the track", added the president of Nîmes Métropole. This agreement will offer great prospects with more than 1,000 qualified jobs and 100 M€ potential private investments. Franck Proust believes in it: "There is a call for projects for start-ups. Another call for projects concerns a 20 ha area in Saint-Gilles located south of the Civil Security Base." L’Agglo is giving itself two to three years to occupy these areas recovered thanks to this transfer of skills.
