The mass distribution brand will display posters in its stores to explain that it will no longer sell products from the PepsiCo group.

Carrefour customers may find some shelves a little empty in the days to come. The mass distribution brand announced this Thursday, January 4 that it would no longer sell PepsiCo France brands in its stores. The reason: to protest against the rise in prices deemed "unacceptable".

"Unacceptable price increase"

From this Thursday, January 4, Carrefour customers will see posters proliferate to indicate this in-store dereferencing, as revealed by our colleagues from BFMTV. &amp ;quot; We no longer sell this brand due to unacceptable price increases. Please excuse us for the inconvenience caused", we can read, accompanied by the message "Carrefour, committed to lowering prices".

All PepsiCo group brands are affected. We can cite Lipton and 7 Up drinks, Lay's chips, Doritos, Alvalle gazpacho, Benenuts brand products and even Quaker.

Negotiations in progress

For several months, mass distribution has been trying to put pressure on manufacturers to obtain price reductions while inflation tends to slow down. Relations between the two, however, remain tense.

The next negotiations between supermarkets and their agro-industry suppliers are expected to conclude between January 15 and 31. They will determine the conditions of sale (purchase price, shelf space, promotional calendar, etc.) for a large proportion of the products sold in supermarkets for this year. < /p>
