Police dismantle drug trafficking run by father and son near Montpellier

La perquisition, menée à leur domicile de Saint-Georges-d’Orques, a permis la saisie de trois armes de poing de collection, trois fusils, de la cocaïne, de la résine de cannabis et plus de 1 600 euros en petites coupures.

Drug trafficking, rampant in the Saint-Georges-d’Orques sector, has just been dismantled by the gendarmes of the Castelnau-le-Lez company following a denunciation on the platform moncommissariat.fr.

The investigations made it possible to determine that the said traffic was run by a father and his son, aged 48 and 28 respectively. An arrest operation was carried out this Monday, March 18.

They had been trading for two years

While the two suspects were placed in police custody, the search resulted in the discovery of more than 1 600 euros in cash, 40  ;g of cocaine, 200 g of cannabis resin, packaging and cutting equipment but also six firearms: three collector's handguns and three rifles.

During their hearings, the two defendants sat down at the table explaining that they had been trafficking for two years with around twenty consumers.

Home detention

Referred to the prosecution this Friday morning, they were sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was suspended. For the firm part, the magistrates agreed to home detention under electronic surveillance.

As an additional penalty, they were sentenced to a fine of 10,000 euros. As for the seals, they were all confiscated.
