Raymond Domenech overthrown, the director of the MHSC training center, Bertrand Reuzeau, new president of the coaches union

In office since 2016, the former coach of the France team was defeated in the elections for the presidency of the coaches union, this Monday, May 6. Bertrand Reuzeau, former player and current boss of the team in Montpellier, replaces him.

Revolution at the head of the French coaches union. After eight years at its head, Raymond Domenech lost the presidency of Unecatef during the elections on Monday to the French Football Federation. His opponents have appointed Bertrand Reuzeau, current director of the Montpellier HSC training center, as new president, reported L’Équipe.

After weeks of tensions, Unecatef held its elections on May 6. Candidate for his succession, Raymond Domenech, was the subject of a dispute. In office since 2016, the former coach of the Blues (2004-2010) was therefore beaten by a group of opponents.

Reuzeau designated, Montpellier always more represented

This dissident list, led in particular by Claude Le Roy, Philippe Montanier and Jacky Bonnevay, former members of the previous office, was elected in its entirety (20 members). She will form the new steering committee and has appointed its president: Bertrand Reuzeau.

Appointed head of the MHSC training center in the summer of 2022, this former defender who spent time with La Paillade as a player (1991-96) had notably managed the centers of Paris Saint-Germain and of AS Monaco previously.

After President Laurent Nicollin, at the head of Foot Unis, the union of professional clubs, the Montpellier club therefore finds itself better and better represented in French football authorities.
