Sailing: the Occitania Cup will hold its sixth edition in the waters of Sète

The meeting is scheduled for the end of September off the coast of Singular Island.

Sailing enthusiasts can mark the date on their calendar, the sixth edition of the Occitania Cup will take place on September 28 and 29 in Sète.

This large-scale event will bring together the region's (and elsewhere's) sailors for their annual reunion, where experienced sailors and more novice racers will mix, in all categories of races and all types of boats (duo, solo, cruisers and monotypes).

Three events on the program

Three challenges will be offered to participants, with first of all a 100 nautical mile (185 km) sea race for solo and duo crews, which will go from Sète to Espiguette, then to Narbonne, Palavas before returning to Sète.

Two days of regattas will then be offered in front of Sète, on the Frontignan side, for sports yachts on technical courses of great intensity.

Finally, two days of regattas for cruisers will take place on coastal courses (but also technical) in front of Sète on the Agde side.

A village to meet the regatta sailors

Suffice to say that this major annual sporting event, organized by the Departmental Committee of the French Sailing Federation with the Société nautique de Sète and all the sailing clubs of Hérault and Gard, will have arguments to attract enthusiasts. The public will be invited to watch the show from the Corniche or the Môle, with the regattas starting on Saturday and Sunday from 10am.

Finally, an “Occitania Cup” village will be set up on the Môle and it will be possible to meet the regatta participants there in the morning before 9am or on Saturday late afternoon, after the races.”The prize-giving ceremony will take place on the Môle on Sunday around 5:30pm.
