Saint-Affrique: access to the emergency room at Emile-Borel hospital is once again regulated until this Sunday 8:30 a.m.

Le service des urgences de l'hôpital de Saint-Affrique sera régulé pour la troisième fois en trois semaines entre samedi 8 juin 8 h 30 et dimanche 9 juin 8 h 30. Midi Libre – J.M COGNOT

In question, an absence of a doctor. No need to go there directly between this Saturday, June 8, 8:30 a.m. and Sunday, June 9, 8:30 a.m. Only emergencies regulated by SAMU Center 15 are accommodated.

“From Saturday, June 8 at 8:30 a.m. to Sunday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m., due to a lack of medical staff, the emergency department of the Émile-Borel hospital center is forced to adapt its direct access in order to be able to provide good conditions for the treatment of vital emergencies and complex situations, announced the hospital management in a press release late yesterday morning. During this period, only emergencies regulated by SAMU Centre 15 will be received."

Third regulation in three weeks

Also, it is advisable to contact your doctor or contact 15 who will provide appropriate guidance in light of each situation. "We thank you for not coming directly to the emergency department before having been invited to do so in advance," concluded the management. "Obstetric emergencies are not affected by this system and can go directly to the maternity ward of the hospital center of Saint-Affrique." This is the third time that this type of regulation has been put in place in three weeks.

"The emergency doctors of the Millau and Saint-Affrique hospital centers, with the management, considered setting up a territorial procedure between Millau, Saint-Affrique and Rodez," comments Sophie Tort, deputy director of the Saint-Affrique hospital.

"Medical human resources are strained"

"Indeed, medical human resources are strained. We must no longer find solutions on the scale of the establishment, but on a larger departmental scale, that is to say between Millau and Saint-Affrique, helped by the regulation of Rodez . The idea is to set up reciprocal aid between the Millau hospital center and that of Saint-Affrique."

And the director of the Saint-Affricain hospital clarified that "it’is the emergency continuity procedure carried out according to the& rsquo;existing with a more extensive technical platform in Millau and a greater number of emergency visits in Millau. When this mode of continuity is activated, communication is made to the various stakeholders, professionals, the population, the Regional Health Agency, etc."
