Samuel-Vincent: director Andrew Snitselaar retires

Andrew Snitselaar dirigeait l’association depuis 2008.

Three hundred and fifty friends, members of his family or staff, but also administrative and elected partners, not forgetting a delegation from the prefecture, formed a guard of honor to welcome Andrew Snitselaar, general director of the Samuel-Vincent association, at a party marking his retirement. The association manages a significant number of services in the field of early childhood, prevention of minors, psychological and educational support for families, all based on "the defense and attachment to republican, humanist values, to the principles of democracy, secularism and social justice."

We attended long laudatory speeches, where humor was not absent. For these reasons, they were the subject of loud applause. The brief presentation by Olivier Goujon, the president, summarizes the main points which reached consensus among the listeners: "I will focus on the essentials. Andrew's exceptional professional qualities are known to all of you and the board of directors that I represent knows what our association owes to him, who knew how to develop it and make it what it has become… A true leader company which exercised its responsibilities with humanity while knowing how to involve the board of directors in its decisions. I can testify to his concern for his collaborators and his search for consensus, a fluid relationship of great trust…"

The thanks from partners or collaborators confirmed these qualities supported by numerous examples. We learn that Andrew had an atypical career path, rich in professional experience in various fields: agricultural technician certificate, passion for manual trades, electrician to pay for his studies… A spirit of insatiable curiosity which led him to seek adventure retired: time for campervan trips.

The new director, David Payan, concludes: "Today' today, I'm not taking your place, you're giving it to me."
