This Sunday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., a TER connecting Firminy to Lyon derailed in the town of Grigny (Essonne). This incident is due to a landslide caused by bad weather in recent days. Train traffic on the track is suspended until May 1.

The line will be cut until May 1st. This Sunday, April 28, a landslide blocked a TER connecting Firminy to Lyon at Grigny (Essonne). Caused by the bad weather of recent days, the collapse of the embankment caused the train to derail according to France bleu. The TER, however, remained "standing".

200 passengers evacuated

The 200 passengers on board had to be evacuated by bus. Meal trays and water were brought to them. The incident having taken place at 7:30 p.m., the securing of travelers was completed around 11:00 p.m. according to our colleagues at BFM Lyon. No serious injuries were reported, only one man was slightly injured in the knee.

Probable damage on the track

Following the accident, traffic was interrupted due to possible damage to the track. It will be able to resume on May 1 at the earliest. Train circulation between Saint-Étienne and Lyon Part-Dieu will however be ensured.
