En ouvrant le paquet de frites surgelées acheté à Aldi, une femme a découvert une masse graisseuse qui gisait au milieu.

Like many Belgians this season, Ingrid did her shopping at Aldi and bought a packet of frozen fries. Once she got home, she quickly put it in her freezer. But when she finally decides to cook them and enjoy her delicious homemade fries, she smells a foul odor escaping from the bag, says Pitimana.

Indeed, in the middle of the fries there was a brownish and compact mass. Disgusted and worried, the woman questioned the nature of this very strange substance. To get answers, she returns to the Aldi store where she purchased the product in question.

Excess fat

On site, the employee apologizes. She explains that it is a "surplus fat from the oil used during pre-cooking fries at the factory". But Ingrid remains perplexed: "Excess fat ? But how is it possible that it ended up concentrated in one place ?"

According to Pitimana, she was finally able to get a refund immediate use of the product. Ingrid praised Aldi’s responsiveness. However, she called on customers to be vigilant by encouraging them to report any anomalies observed in the products they purchase, regardless of the brand. "Be careful when you open your packages of frozen fries, and do not hesitate to throw them away if you notice the slightest anomaly", she advises.
