Then Minister Delegate for Access to Care; Agnès Firmin Le Bodo on the site of the future hospital, December 16, 2022 A.D.

Following the steering committee which met in Millau on Saturday March 2, the members want to go further and faster in bringing medical teams together. The project management competition will be brought forward during March to allow the official launch of the design "at the end of 2024."

Validated with the arrival in September 2022 of Agnès Firmin Le Bodo, then delegated minister in charge of Territorial Organization and Health Professions, the project of  #39;median hospital, which we now speak of under the diminutive common hospital, advance.

This is in essence what has just been validated by a press release from the steering committee (Copil) on the South Aveyron common hospital which met on Saturday 2 March 2024, in the presence of the prefect and sub-prefect of Aveyron, the director general of ARS Occitanie, the mayors of Millau and Saint-Affrique, the president of the Department, the deputy Jean- François Rousset, vice-president of the Occitanie region in charge of health as well as administrative and medical management of the Millau and Saint-Affrique hospital centers.

"Following the favorable opinion of March 1st given by the ARS on the real estate program and the creation of a Group of Health Cooperation for its implementation, the members of the committee renew their determination to bring this attractive and responsible project to fruition, meeting the health needs of the population of South Aveyron",&nbsp ;can we read in the press release.

"Speed up the process"

Complete the project and accelerate: "The Copil notes compliance with the schedule and decides to accelerate the process of carrying out studies and contracts for the construction of the joint hospital. Consequently, the project management competition will be launched in March, followed by the selection of the architect who will allow the official launch of the design at the end of 2024, showing the image of the future hospital and the realization of the project."

In an extremely tense context, both in the establishments of Millau and Saint-Affrique where the Manifesto awaits a response from the ARS on the various points put forward, culpable according to the collective, "to precipitate the deterioration of the healthcare offer", the members of the steering committee also want to accelerate the rapprochement of the teams .

Bringing medical teams together

"This structuring dynamic must be accompanied, from the intermediate phase, by an effective rapprochement of the medical and nursing teams from the establishments of Millau and of Saint-Affrique, in order to implement the shared medical and nursing project, and to build a collective identity and a feeling of belonging to a single hospital community in South Aveyron."< /em>

Welcoming "the involvement of staff in the working groups set up by management to plan the activities in the future premises which will host patients and professionals in the area."

The Copil finally recalls "the exceptional financial commitments of the State (71 M€) and the Region (9 M€) for the construction of the medicine, surgery and obstetrics site of Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon and the Department (30 M€), in order to carry out road improvements."

"To this are added 7.5 M€ already devoted to restoring the financial margins of the hospital centers of Millau and Saint-Affrique, which see their healthcare activities maintained in the territory as part of the new Regional Health Project of the ARS."
