Stopover in Sète 2024: where to park and how to get around during the maritime traditions festival ?

Les règles de stationnement sur Escale à Sète.

Stopover in Sète, the festival of maritime traditions, is held in Sète from March 26 to April 1, 2024. Parking, public transport, traffic… The complete update on travel modes.

During the last edition, in 2022, 438,000 visitors passed through Sète on the occasion of the maritime traditions festival. A popular success, but also a logistical challenge around the circulation and parking of vehicles for festival-goers and residents of Sète. Focus on the solutions offered to motorists for the 2024 edition, from March 26 to April 1.

Where to park for Escale à Sète 2024 ?

Sète port car park

Stopover in Sète and the Port Sud de France have renewed their partnership for 2024. Motorists arriving from the north and east are therefore invited to join the Zifmar car park. Access is via the main entrance to the port of Sète, via the roundabout at the entrance to the town on which departmental roads 600 and 612 and Avenue Gilbert Martelli converge. This car park offers 7000 free parking spaces on 18 hectares, during the entire duration of the event. A free shuttle service is set up to transport festival-goers to the Victory Bridge, at the entrance to the event.

Lido car parks

To the west, for vehicles arriving from Agde and Marseillan, the car parks located along the Lido will be open. Depending on your arrival time, you will be asked to go to a specific parking area. Here again, a free shuttle service is set up from the Lido car parks to the Théâtre de la Mer de Sète from Saturday March 30 to Monday April 1. On other days, it will be possible to join the event using line 9 (paid), whose rotations are reinforced.

Other car parks in the city

The Cayenne and Mas Coulet car parks, the city's two main free parking zones, remain accessible during Stopover in Sète. Like the rest of the year, you will need to register your license plate to benefit from 24 hours of free parking. Access to the four paid car parks (parking des Halles, du Canal, du Midi and Victor-Hugo) will also not be impacted during the event.

How to get to Stopover in Sète without a car ?

By train or bus

From Béziers or Montpellier and even beyond, it is possible to reach the event on foot from Sète station. To encourage this mode of travel, liO Train tickets from all stations in Occitanie and to the Singular Island are half price from Saturday to Monday.

On the bus side, the Agglo de Sète will also apply free transport across its entire network to allow residents to join the event, from March 30 to April 1.

By sea shuttle

What's better than a boat to join the gathering of tall ships? The shuttles between Mèze and Sète will also be free for the Easter weekend, with around ten rotations . In Sète, they will run continuously on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., then Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., between Mas Coulet and La Criée.
