In support of the 31st Pink October campaign, the municipality of Frontignan is offering numerous events throughout the month in partnership with local associations, breast cancer prevention and monitoring organizations, and research institutes. On Saturday, October 5, the associations Les 4 Saisons, the La Peyrade leisure club, and Vivre la Terre met at the Désiré-Archimbeau community center to inaugurate the exhibition “Pink October“.

On this occasion, two check presentations for the 2023 edition took place. The Joyeuse pétanque mixte helped the Carma Family association to the tune of €500: "Our 200 members, while playing boules, work for the community life of Frontignan and major causes: Women's Day, Pink October, the Telethon. Our petanque competitions allow us to raise funds that we are happy to donate. ” And Martine Fougères, president of the Reiki Frontignan association, presented a check for €300 to Sandrine Le Louëdec, coordinating nurse at ASSOS de Thau. “The Reiki association has already donated more than €1,500 for Pink October. And contributing to the actions of ASSOS de Thau corresponds to our approach to living better. We are committed to the well-being of each person and to being able to support patients and caregivers in their fight against cancer."

A friendship drink followed a dance and singing demonstration by Club 40. David Jardon, elected health delegate, recalled: "We must focus on screening. It is essential to talk about it around us so that everyone feels concerned. "

A program rich in perspective

To continue this month of Pink October, many events are coming up. This Tuesday, October 15, reiki and meditation workshop, Thursday, October 24 aromatherapy, magnetism and Reiki, Monday, October 28 QI gong sticks: these workshops are offered by the reiki association to take care of yourself. Free. Free donations donated to the benefit of Pink October (registration at 04 67 48 10 31). Saturday, October 19, a mediator from the city's culture department accompanies visitors through the alleys of the city center to relive the birth of Frontignan, from its medieval expansion to its rise. In partnership with the ASSOS de Thau, at 2:30 p.m. (duration, 2 hours, free, by reservation at 04 67 18 54 92 or on culture@frontignan.fr). On market days, volunteers from the Albert-Calmette Social Life space sell accessories for children and adults that they have made themselves, the proceeds of this sale will be donated to the Breast Institute. Other sports and religious activities are still to be discovered, without forgetting the town hall, all in colorful pink.
