Take your precautions: the A709 motorway partially closed in Montpellier for two nights, from June 19 to 21

Dans le cadre des travaux de construction du pont au-dessus de l’autoroute, une partie de l’A709 sera fermée durant deux nuits, du mercredi 19 au vendredi 21 juin, à Montpellier.

Work continues east of Montpellier, between Odysseum and the Sud de France TGV station. They will once again cause a change in traffic on the A709, for two nights from Wednesday 19 to Friday June 21.

The construction of the new bridge will span the highway at the level of the Vauguières road. To do this, the Vinci Autoroutes teams must now proceed with the concreting phase of the deck sills.

Interruption between the Montpellier Sud and Montpellier Est exit

The operation will result in the closure of traffic on the A709 between this Wednesday, June 19, 9 p.m., and Friday 21 June, 7 a.m., between the Montpellier South interchange (n°30) and the Montpellier Est interchange (n°29) in both directions of traffic. Alternative routes will be put in place.

The completion of this project will make it possible to extend the rails of line 1 of the tramway over 1.3km to serve the new station, the Pierre Mendès high school and the Cambaceres district. Commissioning is announced for early 2025.
