While he had passed the first round of the US Open for the first time in his career by beating the Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta, Arthur Cazaux lost in the next round in three sets against the American Brandon Nakashima.

Arthur Cazaux, ranked 91st in the world, was soundly beaten by American Brandon Nakashima (50th) 6-4, 6-4, 6-2, on Wednesday in the second round of the US Open in which he was participating for the first time.

The 22-year-old Frenchman reached the round of 16 at the Australian Open but lost in the first round at Roland-Garros and in the second at Wimbledon.

Nakashima will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti (18th) or Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic (54th).
