The Amicale biterroise des pieds-noirs was out for the carnival on the Costa Dorada

The Amicale Biterroise des pieds-noirs spent four colorful days between tourism and discovery of the carnival tradition, in the Tarragona region, south of Barcelona.

Members of the Amicale biterroise des pieds-noirs (ABPN) went to Spain for four days to attend the carnivals of Vendrell, Cunit and ending in apotheosis with that of Tarragona. Accompanied by associations from Agde and Canet-en-Roussillon, the 66 visitors attended three magnificent events.

The inhabitants of Vendrell and Cunit make their floats and costumes all year round to shine brightly at nightfall as they parade through the streets of the town. The Tarragona carnival, where the city's dance schools and associations prepare floats and choreographies, can, at nightfall, light up the eyes of the public, accompanied by their wild music and dances.

Wild dances

The festivities taking place in the evening, this allowed travelers to visit several small towns during the mornings such as Montblanc, surrounded by ramparts, as well as the city of Reus. On the last day, before going to Tarragona, the participants made some purchases at the Margarida market. The return to Béziers took place in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by songs and jokes, with the promise of seeing each other again for a future outing.
