The Cartoville Béziers Méditerranée guide from Gallimard Voyages is released on April 4

This is a very practical little tourist guide, as are the 128 other works in the Cartoville collection from Gallimard Voyages, which will be published on April 4 to discover the territory of Béziers Méditerranée . It was developed in partnership with the community tourism office and represents six months of work, from design to publication. &quot ;It is the 129th in the Cartoville collection and the 2nd in the Occitanie region, just after Toulouse, specifies Monique Boulze-Pillevesse, from the tourist office, who, with Charlotte Guitton, actively participated in its creation, under the aegis of director Jean Muller. Particular care was taken in the choice of content (monuments, restaurants, bars, shops…): "But this is not an elitist guide, specifies Monique Boulze. It presents a wide range of prices so that the discoveries are within the reach of all budgets."

Sites and discoveries

Structured into six zones – historic center, Béziers 19th century, Fonseranes and the Canal du Midi, curiosities to see in Sérignan and Valras, on the vineyard side (hinterland) – the small guide in the format 17 cm x 12 cm takes the user into a concentrate of Biterroise's natural and heritage riches, not to be missed, especially during a short stay .

Based on texts by the journalist Charlotte Pavard, author of numerous travel guides in the Cartoville collection, we first find the essentials, such as the Saint-Nazaire cathedral, the Allées Paul-Riquet, the 9 locks of Fonseranes, the Canal du Midi, the Plateau des Poètes or the Domaine des Orpellières.

Then, we travel to "Béziers differently". For example, by paddling at the foot of the cathedral or having lunch on a barge. The guide then offers a whole program of visits for a three-day stay. Four plans follow for as many sites: city center, Béziers 19th century, Fonseranes and the Canal, Sérignan and Valras. Tourist reception structures are proposed there; (Fonseranes site house, boat house…), restaurants, bars, hotels and entertainment venues. In short, enough to cultivate, eat, drink and taste the pleasures of the region.

Cells and especially wine

All eyes finally turn "to the vineyards" for visits to some wine estates, knowing that the territory is full of cooperative and private cellars, and above all a variety of quality wines. Cartoville Béziers Méditerranée ends with practical information (tourist office, bus, events calendar, train station, parking…), an alphabetical index of streets and monuments and two maps of the public transport network.

Those interested will find the guide in the various tourist information offices in Béziers Méditerranée, at the Clareton bookstore, at Cultura as well as in the bookstores in France of the Gallimard Voyages network. The official launch party for Cartoville Béziers will take place on April 4, at 7 p.m., in Clareton. I subscribe to read more
