We will soon no longer be able to park in the Arceaux car park: its definitive closure has been announced on March 31 in Montpellier

Les automobilistes seront invités à stationner au parking Pitot Arceaux, situé à 300 mètres. Les travaux d'embellissement de la place Max Rouquette, qui sera rendue piétonne, s'achèveront au printemps 2025.

The redevelopment work on Place Max Rouquette will soon begin, as part of the extension and beautification of the heart of the metropolis.

From the end of March, a first step will consist of installing the bungalows, toilets and storage spaces necessary for the companies which will work on the site. They will be located on the current footprint of the bowling green located at the foot of the aqueduct, between rue Marioge and the location of the market. 

The Arceaux market remains during the works

To enable this installation, the configuration of the red parking zone (30 minutes free) located to the right of the bowling green has just been adapted in order to provide a clear path towards the market, the operation of which will be maintained unchanged during the works.

Starting next April, another step will consist of enclosing Place Max Rouquette in order to allow the dismantling of the equipment in place. With this in mind, the closure of the Arceaux car park is scheduled for the evening of Sunday March 31.

Users will be invited to head towards the Pitot Arceaux car park located 300 meters away. The readability of its access will be reinforced.

Pitot as an alternative parking lot

The Pitot Arceaux car park, which offers a total capacity of 600 spaces, has an occupancy rate of less than 50% over the past year; including since the transfer of around a hundred subscribers from the Arceaux car park last May. Therefore, on average, nearly 300 parking spaces remain available.

Contacts will be made with traders, professionals and representatives of the neighboring co-ownerships most directly concerned in order to provide them with appropriate information.

Delivery of the new Max Rouquette square is targeted for fall 2025.
