The City of Frontignan has renewed its partnership with the Caf de l’Hérault

A new global territorial agreement, for the period 2023-2027, was signed on Wednesday March 6 between the City of Frontignan and the Caf de l'Hérault.

It was in the wedding hall of the Frontignan Town Hall that the remarriage between the Town of Frontignan and the Caf de l'Hérault. For once, it's not called "Remarriage Contract" but "Global Territorial Convention". Less sexy but just as important.

2.3 M€ paid by CAF

"This agreement marks a year's work between our various departments and yours to manage to complete all the actions", noted Mayor Michel Arrouy. "You know that here we are very sensitive to all areas of childhood, parenthood and early childhood." And to point out that this contract provides for the payment over the year of some 2.3 M€ of the CAF in the structures of the Muscatière city or in the form of aid. "You are the first partner of the City of Frontignan", he told Thierry Mathieu, the director of the Caf&nbsp ;de l'Hérault and Laurent Teissier, the chairman of the board of directors.

Frontignan, "an example"

Praises which were returned to him, Thierry Mathieu speaking of "the example of Frontignan in the field of early childhood. There are 1,445 children here who benefit from leisure centers. This allows them to socialize but also allows parents to benefit from their occupations and, if necessary, to look for work". "This agreement allows to develop innovative projects for the poorest families", was keen to underline the second.

What Caf pays to the city of Frontignan

In 2022, the institution paid 1.3M€ operating aid for existing early childhood, youth and parental care structures in the territory and 1.1 M€ as part of the childhood-youth contract.
Caf also allocated 313,470 € in investment grants for the renovation of the Roger-Michel crèche. In 2022, it also paid nearly 2.4 million euros per month. of legal benefits to the 5,152 beneficiaries of the commune of Frontignan.
More precisely, 32% of city beneficiaries are in a relationship with child(ren) (compared to 26% at the departmental level). 55% of parents from benefit-receiving families are working (compared to 47% in Hérault). In Frontignan, 29% of benefit recipient families live below the poverty line (i.e. 5 points less than the departmental percentage). Three more digits. 32% of beneficiaries receive family allowances (compared to 27% in Hérault), 12% benefit from RSA (13% in the department) and finally 39% of beneficiaries benefit from # 39;housing assistance (compared to 51% at the departmental level).

Involvement of both partners

In fact, this document linking the two parties is developed into six themes: early childhood, childhood, youth, parenthood, access to rights and housing. The two institutions therefore undertake to work together on the different aspects of the themes identified.
