The Compagnons de Maguelone are launching “tasting Thursdays”, wine tourism events in their island vineyard, near Montpellier

On the Maguelone peninsula, south of Montpellier, the Les Compagnons de Maguelone association offers activities every Thursday morning, in July and August, around its vineyard. The opportunity to discover organic and disabled wines, in this place which works to integrate people with disabilities. First meeting, this Thursday, July 4.

Every Thursday morning, throughout the summer, the Les Compagnons de Maguelone association welcomes the public for activities around its vineyard on the peninsula of Maguelone, south of Montpellier.

These “tasting Thursdays” are an opportunity to discover the organic wines produced on this island terroir, with varied grape varieties. To enjoy the exceptional panorama of the site, with a 360° view of the Mediterranean, the ponds, Montpellier, the Pic Saint-Loup, and in good weather the Canigou and the Ventoux. It is also an inclusive approach, by promoting the work of people with disabilities, working on the estate.

Tasting in the cellar, food and wine pairings

Every Thursday, a theme. This July 4th, a wine tourism walk in the company of the head of culture; followed by a tasting directly at the vat, in the cellar. On July 11th and 25th, food and wine pairing mornings with sometimes surprising proposals. On other dates, visitors will be guided through the entire wine estate, which is not usually open to the public.

At the end of the tasting, the audio guide is offered to participants to discover the history of Maguelone Cathedral, from the 11th and 12th centuries.
