Tuesday May 28, at the Bagnols-sur-Cèze media library, the Heart and Health club is organizing prevention and awareness workshops on cardiovascular diseases. The day will be punctuated by numerous activities.

On the occasion of the International Day of Action for Women's Health, Tuesday May 28, the Heart and Health Club of Bagnols is organizing prevention, awareness and information workshops on cardiovascular diseases at the media library. "They are the leading cause of death among women ahead of breast cancer, recalls Jean-Louis Laffitte, volunteer, trainer and first aider within the Heart and Health club. Every day in France, cardiovascular diseases kill 400 people. It goes under the radar but it’s a real public health issue."

Training in first aid actions

With this special day, the Heart and Health club wants "to make an impression". In the morning, from 9 a.m., the public will be able to learn about different cardiovascular diseases and measure their blood pressure in the media library hall. The therapeutic education team from the Bagnols Hospital Center will have a stand. A leader from the Heart and Health club will offer a gym session open to people of different levels. In the afternoon, from 2 p.m., Jean-Louis Laffitte will raise awareness of life-saving gestures for 2 hours and 30 minutes, the equivalent of training ;nbsp;PSC1 (level 1 civic prevention and relief). "We will see how to put a person in PLS, how to clear an airway, stop a hemorrhage, make a cardiac massage, use a defibrillator… These are the basic gestures to know."

Around 5 p.m., he will hold a conference on the theme: "The ten golden rules for preserving the health of your heart". "We are the actors of our own health. We can and must do something to preserve our hearts."

All events are free and open to all.
