The mayor of Agde (Hérault), former UMP deputy, Gilles d'Ettore, was placed in police custody this Tuesday March 19 following ;a search carried out in the town hall in the morning by investigators from the Montpellier judicial police, as part of an investigation led for several months by an investigating judge from Béziers.

According to corroborating sources interviewed by Midi Libre, the elected official would be suspected in particular of "illegal taking of interest" and "concealment of abuse of corporate property", for financial offenses involving sums of several tens of thousands of euros, including part of public money.
