Five partner schools took part in the race organized by the Capouchiné college for the benefit of the CEC du Gard. Fifth and sixth grades had to look for sponsors, the money raised constituting a donation for the Conductive Education Center, based in Clarensac and which will celebrate its tenth anniversary.
With its experience and recognized for its welcoming qualities, it therefore continues to develop its actions in favor of children with rare disabilities, but also their families. Fanny Grau Coppieters, medical director, explains: "Each year, around thirty families and children without a solution are supported in an innovative structure. The very active association needs support and financial aid. She organizes and participates in numerous charitable events, such as the Capouchiné college solidarity race. We also recently received a grant from the Departmental Council."
Parents and professionals noted very good support from families, students and the joy expressed by children with disabilities: "It became a celebration. The middle school students talk about it from the start of the year, an excellent opening to solidarity." For the principal of the college, Olivier Cross Mouret, "the observation is encouraging. The priority education network, of which we are part, shows its capacity to mobilize and make itself attractive. In recent years, we have noticed real progress in the general atmosphere and a reduction in conflicts. We are on the right track in expanding this type of action. Academic success can only improve. We also develop the art of the circus, badminton, indoor football, basketball." And Sébastien Barré, gymnastics teacher, concludes: "This race is a high point for all of us."
