The new volunteers from the Cœur d’Hérault trained in rescue

The new recruits experienced the stress of the intervention, during a full-scale exercise, to be ready on D-day.

12 nouveaux volontaires de six centres ont suivi une semaine de formation théorique et pratique.

It's 2 p.m. A vehicle is embedded against a tree, with a pedestrian on the ground, a scooter and its driver also overturned, at the intersection between Route des Plans and Route de Bédarieux. The firefighters are present alongside other services (gendarmerie, Department, municipal police, elected officials). But don't worry. Twelve new volunteers from the centers of Lodève, Clermont-l’Hérault, Paulhan, Le Pouget, Saint-Pargoire and Lunas are practicing personal rescue.

< i>"Since Monday, new recruits from the Cœur d'Hérault centers have been following VSAV (ambulance) team training before certification validation this Saturday, February 24. To conclude the week, we put them in a situation so that they understand each person's role, explains lieutenant and trainer José Navarro. The candidates did the exercise under the eyes of the sub-prefect, Éric Suzanne.

"Personal assistance makes up 85% of our interventions. It is therefore important to provide quality training to make them operational very quickly", continues Lieutenant Dominique Colin who heads the Lodève barracks. With a very important message: the fire brigade is recruiting volunteers: "You can contact the fire station near you if you wish to get involved. You just need to have the desire and the time to give."
