The director is also congratulated in a very laudatory review of his film on France soir, a media owned by one of his close friends , Xavier Azalbert. The latter had notably ensured part of the promotion of Hold-Up.

As a reminder, France soir was formerly a general daily newspaper, which suffered significant losses from 1980. In 2019, its journalists had been fired, and the paper edition was soon replaced by a website fueled by anonymous contributions.
