They are suspected of “gang rape” committed against a high school girl: eight minors indicted

In Bron, a town located in the suburbs of Lyon, a young high school student was allegedly raped by eight teenagers last fall. The suspects were arrested and indicted for gang rape at the beginning of April. The affair was revealed by our colleagues from Progrès this Saturday.

Burglar and rape

The victim was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted at her home, in the southeastern suburbs of Lyon by around ten young people.

Initially, it was an investigation for burglary that was opened before it was reclassified for much more serious facts: gang rape, reports the local daily, relayed by France 3. The high school student finally decided to confide in the objects and personal effects that had been stolen from her home and recounted the abuse she suffered.

Investigations made it possible to identify at the beginning of the year no fewer than eight suspects, all minors. They were then arrested on April 3 and were then presented to a judge who indicted them for rape.

Seven of them were imprisoned, indicates Le Progrès. For the moment, investigations are continuing and should make it possible to establish whether this gang of young people has committed other similar acts.
