For a weekend, the cultural and scientific center of Rochebelle, in Alès, becomes the temple of entertainment. Its courtyard, its amphitheater, its rooms and its gardens are taken over by the first Alès Game Festival in the Cévennes. Here, board or role-playing games, new games and various activities come together, such as a figurine painting workshop.

A great "promotion"event

Morgan Vaudray, a volunteer, is inexhaustible on role-playing games. "People vaguely know. In broad terms", he said. "I see people coming out of curiosity, encouraged by friends, or just to try." And this event has it all , for him, a great event of "promotion".

The emphasis is on what is out of the ordinary…

Moreover, in a room on the ground floor, board games are available for self-service. "And if visitors have questions, we inform them. We can even play with them", smiles Marie-Christine Giraudot, from the Lez’Embouquinés association. And here, we are far from "Monopoly", "Scrabble" and other great classics on the market. The emphasis is placed "on games that are out of the ordinary", continues this enthusiast. "The public comes to learn and experience games that we are not used to playing. And this is for all ages."

There are even "exclusives", even games to try on the floor above. Thus, Floracois Marc Lejeune unveils his "Boxing Dice", which he imagined barely a month ago and does not even plan to publish.
