The Belgian cyclists assure us: the Red Devils will sweep over the Blues.

The 8th final of Euro-2024 between France and Belgium began on Thursday at the Tour de France where the Belgian Remco Evenepoel predicted a crushing victory for the Red Devils on Monday at Düsseldorf. "It'll make it 4-0 for Belgium", launched the world chrono champion, a former very high-level footballer who was even captain of the Belgian junior team, during a press conference in Florence, two days before departure.

2018 World Cup revenge

Another Belgian rider, Oliver Naesen, was less optimistic but still promises a 2-1 victory for the Belgians. "Belgium n&#39 ;isn't great, but hey, we're still there. I think it won't be like during the World Cup (2018), which was also during the Tour. France had won (1-0 in the semi-finals) and the whole team was for France, except me. It may be different this year", added Naesen who is racing for the French Decathlon-AG2R team.

His teammate, Paul Lapeira, brand new French champion, did not agree. "I think it will go down well and I think Oli (Naesen) will be a little disappointed on Monday evening", he said.

At the Euro in Germany, France and Belgium qualified as second in their respective groups, finishing for the Blues with a 1-1 against Poland, which was already eliminated , and for the Red Devils with a 0-0 against Ukraine after which their own supporters whistled at them.
