The students of La Merci ran despite the wind and the sand, "optimal conditions", ironically quips Yann Le Failler, PE teacher at High School. With Thomas Perfettini, mathematics teacher, he registered two of his classes in the Pyramid Race, an emblematic sporting and charitable event in La Grande-Motte. Students in preparatory classes, sciences and economics achieved the best times while braving the rain and the cold.

Alain Bonifay is the president of the La Grande-Motte Lions Club. Accompanied by another volunteer, Jacques Perrin, he presented two trophies "for all the performances" of the young people to their delegates. The two best men's times and the two best women's times in the 5 and 10 kilometer races also received a trophy. The volunteers finally offered a medal to each of the sixty students present, who warmly thanked them with applause.

For a good cause for thirty years

The event, which celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in March, welcomed 4 600 runners. All this for a good cause: the profits made over the weekend will be donated to sick and disabled children. "Like every year", specifies Jacques Perrin.
