The president of the Île-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse, encouraged residents to change "their automatic transportation" on the sidelines of the presentation of the public transport pricing policy during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Valérie Pécresse returned to the prices applied for public transport during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this Monday March 25, 2024, by encouraging residents to change their habits, particularly in terms of transport.

As a reminder, the metro ticket price has been set at 4 € during the Olympic Games compared to 2.10 € today. The Ile-de-France president justified this choice "precisely so that no one buys" and thus avoids "embolism at the counters".

"We rely on collective intelligence, such as stopping one station before for example"

She asks Ile-de-France residents to use the Navigo Liberté + formula, a pass counting the journeys of the month and for which the payment is equivalent to 1.73 € per trip. For the regional president, "The Ile-de-France resident who chooses to pay for a 4 € ticket means that he’s made a bad choice, he chose to pay more".

Valérie Pécresse therefore invites the inhabitants of the Paris region to develop "their automatic transport systems". The president of the Île-de-France region also declared "We are banking on collective intelligence, such as stopping one station before for example. You shouldn't be afraid to do a little walking, it's good for your health and it will be August."

For residents outside Île-de-France, it recommends the day pass, the cost of which can range from 10 to 16 € per day. These different passes will be available from May on the app "Transport public Paris 2024".
