De très fortes pluies sont tombées sur les Émirats arabes unis. Le tarmac de l’aéroport international de Dubaï notamment était totalement inondé. 

Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest in the world, is' 39;s literally transformed into a lake. Shared on social networks, the images are impressive. All flights had to be diverted on arrival, due to the torrential rains which fell in recent hours. "Departing flights continue", nevertheless clarified an airport spokesperson.

Even indoors, within the airport terminal, the many travelers had their feet in the water this Tuesday, April 16. 

Schools still closed

More than 100 thefts were expected but chaos descended on the city, which also caused traffic to be blocked in certain places. The country's schools have had to close and are expected to remain closed this Wednesday, April 17, according to Le Parisien.

The semi-final of the Asian Champions League between the Emirati club Al Ain and the Saudi club Al Hilal, has been postponed by 24 hours. In Oman, a country bordering the United Arab Emirates, 18 people, including children, died in these floods.

Major shopping centers also suffered heavy damage during the day, during which the equivalent of a year's worth of precipitation fell on Dubai .
