This Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse was visible from Earth. A rare phenomenon which has given rise to many exceptional photos.
It started in Mexico before crossing the United States and ending in Canada: millions of people were able to admire a rare total eclipse, a celestial event that left place for wonderful videos.

For several minutes, part of North America was plunged into darkness in broad daylight.

Visible from the ISS
In the United States, no less than 30 million people, living in the area where the eclipse was visible, were able to observe the phenomenon for a few minutes. The trajectory affected 15 American states in total.
A local television filmed the phenomenon at Niagara Falls, on the border between Canada and the United States, where thousands of curious people had flocked, and that the’ we can see again in the tweet below.

The event also represented a great economic opportunity for many regions receiving a significant influx of tourists.

The American authorities have been hammering home safety instructions for weeks, particularly regarding the wearing of special glasses to look at the Sun, under penalty of serious eye damage.
