Viola and strings in all states in Lasalle and its surroundings

Du 20 au 29 août, le village de Lasalle et les communes environnantes vont accueillir les différents concerts et animations qui émaillent la Fête de l’alto.

For the 12th year, the village of Lasalle will experience, at the end of August, the Fête de l’Alto, a flagship event that brings together, in several Cévennes municipalities, internationally renowned musicians, invited by Pierre-Henri Xuereb, violist and artistic director of the event.
From Tuesday 20 to Thursday 29 August, master classes, concerts and other events are on the programme for this event; which starts in Valleraugue, and ends in Saint-Jean-du-Gard… for an eventful time, rich in diversity, which aims to close the Cévennes summer.

Conference and concerts

We will note the concert with conference by Christine Jolivet on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the composers, Darius Milhaud and André Jolivet, which will take place on Monday August 26 (9 p.m.) in Lasalle (Pont de fer spinning mill), where we will be able to hear works by these two composers, as well asEclogues(pastoral poem) for solo viola, with Shady Hanna, a French creation for cello, and sonata for solo cello by Zoltan Kodaly. For the various concerts scheduled, you can choose to follow some of them: Around viola voices (Tuesday August 20, 8:30 p.m.) in Valleraugue, two violists and a pianist present solos and duets in an unexpected repertoire. Les Improsteurs Swing, with gypsy jazz (Thursday August 22, 9 p.m.) in Saint-Christol-lez-Alès (Maison pour tous). Free.
Resonance of the depths (violin, viola and voice) in the Grotte de Trabuc, in Mialet (Friday August 23, 7:30 p.m.). Homage to Gabriel Fauré (Saturday August 24, 5:30 p.m.) in Lasalle (temple) with choir and low strings, in works by Fauré, Schubert, Mendelssohn, etc. Strings in celebration (Tuesday, August 27, 9 p.m.) in Saint-Jean-du-Gard (temple) where, for the occasion, the musicians change instruments during the concert! Closing concert (Tuesday, August 28, 9 p.m.) in Lasalle (temple) with all the musicians and interns as well as Thierry Miroglio (percussion), guest artist.
