Violence by minors: why Emmanuel Macron asked Gabriel Attal for a “cycle of consultations” ?

"The emergence of ultraviolence in everyday life, among increasingly young citizens, requires long-term work that involves all the actors", declared the Head of State during the Council of Ministers, according to a participant who confirmed information from the Parisien.

"Only in this way can we put an end to the process of decivilization that I denounced. The Prime Minister will launch tomorrow this cycle of consultations", he added, citing mayors, associations, parents, teachers.

A trip for "authority"

The head of government goes Thursday morning to Viry-Châtillon, a town in Essonne recently mourned by the death of a 15-year-old teenager, Shemseddine, beaten near his college. He must give a speech there on "authority at the heart of the Republic" which will also mark his 100 days spent at Matignon.

"Authority must apply everywhere, for all", said Wednesday government spokesperson Prisca Thevenot, announcing this trip. The Prime Minister must "detail a very precise action plan on this issue which is expected of all, in the continuity of our action since 2017", she said.

Fight against feminicides

During the council of ministers, Emmanuel Macron established a parallel with the action being taken to fight against feminicides. &quot ;When the horror of feminicides gripped society, thanks to the mobilization of associations, we launched the Grenelle on domestic violence which allowed us to put everyone around the table and produce major results on which we are still working today", he said, according to this participant.

"A lot of work has already been done but I am asking the government for the same mobilization on the same scale on the issue of violence among minors" , he added.
