Malgré une belle prestation, les Béziers Angels se sont inclinées (3-2), mardi soir, pour la première manche des quarts de finale de Ligue AF. Entre regrets et espoirs, le coach Fabien Simondet se confie après cette première confrontation.

Traveling to the Volley Mulhouse Alsace floor for the first round of the AF League quarter-finals, the Béziers Angels long believed they could secure victory, before finally losing at the end of the tie-break after a battle of more than two hours (25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-12).

Enough to nourish regrets, but also real reasons for hope before returning to the reigning French vice-champions at the start of next week (Tuesday April 2, 8 p.m.) . "There's a bit of frustration. We played really well, but we also made some mistakes at important moments. It’s a shame because I think there was room to win this first match, but it’s also proof that we are at the same level as Mulhouse, confides Fabien Simondet, the Béziers coach, less than a week before the second clash in Alsace. We still have a second chance to win there. We will have to keep the positive, build on everything that has been done well and improve the small details to win this second round."

The Béziers Angels have proven that they are largely capable of it. It’s up to them.
