Weather alert: violent thunderstorms and rain-flooding, seven departments placed on orange alert including Gard and Ardèche

In its 6 a.m. bulletin, this Sunday, June 9, 2024, Météo France placed seven departments on orange alert for "rain-flood” phenomena. and "storms".

Severe thunderstorms

The unstable rain episode with notable accumulations of precipitation continues in the South-West. Orange thunderstorm vigilance was lifted at 6 a.m. in the Landes, which remains however, on orange rain-flood alert. The rain will persist, but at lower intensities.

The Gers, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Hautes-Pyrénées have returned to yellow vigilance.

In the south-eastern quarter, locally violent thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon. Ardèche, Gard, Vaucluse, Drôme and ;rsquo;Isère are on orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding.

Clement weather in the rest of the territory

The rest of the territory should benefit from mild weather, according to Météo-France.

In the south-eastern quarter, the maximums are announced between 25 and 28 degrees, up to 29 in Southern Corsica. The minimums will range from 8 to 14 degrees in the northern half and from 15 to 18 in the south, 18 to 20 degrees in the Mediterranean.
