Nîmes Olympique (15th in National) was eliminated in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France in Orléans (10th in National), Saturday January 6 (1-2). Croc coach Frédéric Bompard criticizes the refereeing body for a forgotten penalty and a goal disallowed for offside, valid according to him. Reactions.

Frédéric Bompard (Nîmes coach): "On what was this match played out ? On refereeing errors ! You know me, I never talk about it, but today I can't afford not to talk about it. I watched the images again, there was a penalty on Hamza Sbaï at the end of the match, who was told that the foul was not sufficiently strong, and people whistled against him. And there is no offside from Freddy Mbemba, who scored for me (76th). And what's more, it's an Orléans player who touches the ball last! My team didn't deserve to not pass.

We were in spirit, combative, we knew how to adapt to the bad terrain. In the Cup, there is only one thing that matters, and that is to be present in the next round, and we will not be there. We didn't achieve our goal regarding the Coupe de France but believe me, we will do everything to try to achieve it in the championship, and maintain ourselves.' ;quot;

Gauthier Laurens (Nîmes scorer): "We leave with frustration. Overall, we had a decent match, the match we needed, apart from this lack of concentration after the opening score. We knew it, though. Afterwards, we dominated the second half but we were unable to equalize. We have to be positive and take the good to move forward for next weekend and the championship."

Jonathan Mexico (Nîmes midfielder): "It's a difficult defeat to swallow. We opened the score then we conceded avoidable goals. We played a coherent match. This week, we took stock after our last complicated months, we said to ourselves that we had to start moving forward, play more vertically. We weighed more offensively. There were absentees, and when we see what we produced today, Gauthier (Laurens) who had a good match, Freddy (Mbemba) who is coming back…  There is the workforce to save the club and maintain it in the National. We all believe in it, and from Sochaux (Monday January 15), we will believe in it."
