“What games”: “catastrophic”, “no kindness”… why Léa Salamé's show is so criticized ?

Derived from “Quelle époque”, the show Quelles jeux is broadcast on France 2 from 11:10 p.m. and hosted by Léa Salamé, to debrief the Olympic news. Since its launch, the show has been the subject of strong criticism.
Barely launched, already widely criticized. The program Quelles Jeux, which is broadcast every evening on France 2 from 11:10 p.m. during the Olympic Games, is not unanimous. Since its broadcast, Internet users have been constantly pointing out the clumsiness attributed to its presenter, Léa Salamé, alongside Laurent Luyat.
Disgruntled Internet users and viewers notably criticize the journalist for a lack of expertise in sports, coupled with a lack of empathy. A sequence with judoka Amandine Buchard, Sunday July 28, notably caused a lot of reaction on the web.
“We'll remember your smile”
Recently awarded a bronze medal, the French judoka had spoken of the many sacrifices imposed on her by her discipline.

“We see our adolescence go by very, very quickly, sometimes we don't even see it, because we have to perform well”, explains the judoka, evoking the terrible images of a Japanese judoka eliminated. “It destroyed him”, she concluded.
At the end of the testimony, Léa Salamé concluded: “It destroyed him, but we remember your smile, and we remember your victory and your medal!”. This sentence earned her a lot of criticism. Internet users particularly criticize Léa Salamé for her lack of empathy.
Aucune bienveillance, aucune empathie.

“She died, crushed by the horse”
On Tuesday, many comments criticized the previous day's show. It was the turn of rider Stéphane Landois, who won a silver medal in the eventing horse riding competition, to be received on the plateau.
Léa Salamé wanted to recall a tragic anecdote, concerning the champion's horse. "That horse you rode with, it belonged to another woman […] Five years ago, she was riding him and she had an accident. And she died instantly, crushed by the horse. The sequence was so controversial as the mother of the deceased rider attended the show, indicates the TV magazine Le Figaro.

Internet users particularly regret that the channel chose Léa Salamé rather than a new generation of sports journalists.

Good audiences
Despite the criticism, the show enjoys good audiences, underlines the Figaro TV magazine. Léa Salamé, who regularly receives criticism from Internet users, has not responded to the controversies surrounding the show Quelles Jeux, which is taking off elsewhere, also receives the approval of many viewers or colleagues, who support Léa Salamé in particular under fire from critics.

This is the case, for example, of Sud Radio editorialist Françoise Degois, who asks “What is this obsessive delirium about Léa Salamé ? It's very good, the after-party she presents with Laurent Luyat. […] I just find these low ferocities of the helmet sadly unfair and unargued”.
