A 58-year-old man fractured both ankles following a climbing accident in the Chassezac gorges late this Friday morning, August 9, 2024. He was airlifted by the Dragon 48 to the Aubenas hospital center (Ardèche).

While canyoning accidents are relatively frequent in the Chassezac gorges during this period, it was following a 5-meter fall while he was climbing that a 58-year-old man was injured this Friday, August 9, 2024, shortly after 11:30 a.m., in the town of Prévenchères.

Unable to move, the fifty-year-old initially suffered from a fracture of both ankles. Due to its location, the accident required the intervention of the Reconnaissance and Intervention Group in Dangerous Environments (GRIMP) via the paths and an ambulance from Villefort. The Dragon 48 ensured the helicopter hoisting of the victim to the hospital center of Aubenas (Ardèche).
