2024 Olympics: Millavois Jean-Rémy Bergounhe will carry the Olympic flame on a stage in Occitanie

A new man from Aveyron to carry the Olympic flame. 

Several Aveyron residents will have the honor of carrying the Olympic flame during its journey in France for nearly a month, from May 8, 2024. We can note Christian Cabantous, well known in the world of martial arts and health sports, the kayaker Thomas Richard, the former footballer Natacha Burg and the sportswoman Pauline Delavergne.

A new name from Aveyron has been communicated: the pilot and business manager Jean-Rémy Bergounhe. He will not run in his department of Aveyron, but should carry the flame to Occitanie. The dates are not yet known,  Jean-Rémy Bergounhe should run between Auch (Gers) and Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées).

Among 55,000 candidates

This competitor is a regular at the Dakar, in which he is currently participating in tandem with Lionel Costes, after having participated in the Rallye du Maroc in 2023.  Jean-Rémy Bergounhe is also known in the Ruthenian basin for having developed the Finadorm group, which employs 1,200 employees throughout France.

"To identify the bearers of the Flame, Paris 2024 mobilized numerous players in its ecosystem: the Official Sponsors of the Flame Relays, partner companies, the sports movement, the stakeholders of the Games and the territories crossed by the Relays all contributed to this selection", proudly communicates the Finadorm group. Jean-Rémy Bergounhe was part of the 55,000 candidates from the official sponsor Banque Populaire and Caisse d'Epargne, and his sporting commitment undoubtedly allowed him to stand out from the crowd to carry the flame in May 2024.

With this appointment, he joins the great family of Éclaireurs, "11,000 anonymous people or figures from the general public who do and live sport on a daily basis and who will make the Paris 2024 Torch Relay a success.
