The Bordeaux home of a rugby player from Union Bordeaux-Bègles was burglarized at the end of the week, while the player was traveling to Castres (41-12) for the 16th day of Top 14, we learned on Sunday from a police source.

According to the police, the thieves entered "by climbing" and "break-in-free" in the property to steal nine luxury watches, several medals and jerseys, various multimedia objects, as well as a safe containing 40,000 euros in cash.

240,000 euros of damage

For the victim, whose identity has not been revealed, the damage is estimated at 240,000 euros, still according to the same source. The club did not immediately react to requests from AFP. Burglaries targeting professional athletes, particularly footballers, while they are playing are relatively common.
