The water and sanitation service of the Gard Rhone agglomeration explains the increase in the water rate in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.

After the last municipal council meeting on June 24 in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, the opposition municipal councilor Jérôme Jackel announced, in a press release, "his concern regarding the increase in the price of water", demanding solutions for precarious families.
The mayor of Bagnols and vice-president of the Gard Rhone agglomeration, Jean-Yves Chapelet, then responded by recalling that the elected representatives of the Agglo have "established a single price per cubic meter of water to guarantee price fairness for all, and specified that "the CCAS appeals commission de Bagnols helps households with an annual fund of 15,000 euros, thanks to an agreement with Véolia.

The urban water and sanitation service in turn provides details concerning the price of water which "s’is understood at the intercommunal level and makes it possible to make investments that a single municipality could not undertake". L’Agglo underlines that "for Bagnols-sur-Cèze in 2024, the price of water for a typical bill < em>of 120 m3 (average household consumption) increases by 7.85%”, an increase which “takes into account inflation and significant investment needs”. Which therefore brings the water price to 5.17 euros per m3 (2.06 euros for drinking water and 3.11 euros for for sanitation) in 2024, for €4.80 per m3 in 2023.

“Late regularizations from our delegates”

In addition, explains the Agglo service, “the invoice issued in recent days includes regularizations from our delegates (Véolia and Saur) on sanitation (subscription and consumption) not collected in 2023”. Which represents for "a typical bill of 120 m3, 79.36 euros including 11.84 euros of subscription".

"Late regularizations, potentially significant" that the Agglo "regrets".

To help precarious households, the Agglo emphasizes that it has set up, with its delegates and the CCAS, water vouchers, “endowed with 35,000 € (including 15,000 € for Bagnols)".
