Lying on the ground in a pool of blood: a man between life and death found under a bridge in the Pyrénées-Orientales

On the evening of Wednesday, August 7, 2024, a man was found in Perpignan, lying in a pool of blood.

What happened? This Wednesday, around 8:30 p.m., a man was discovered lying on the ground in a pond of blood, report our colleagues from l’indépendant.

Rescued using a ladder

When it was found, it was located at the bottom of the bridge on the banks of the Basse at the intersection between the Boulevard des Pyrénées and the Cours Lazare Escarguel in Perpignan.

It was the Groupement de reconnaissance et d’intervention en milieux perileux (GRIMP) who had to rescue the individual with a ladder, due to difficult access conditions.

Another individual tried to jump

Aged around sixty years old according to l’Indépendant, and according to about fifty Actu, the individual suffered serious injuries to the head and arm. Between life and death, according to our colleagues, he was taken to hospital by emergency services.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the national police.

Two hours later, another man, suffering from "psychiatric disorders&quot indicates Actu, tried to jump from the same bridge. He was held back by a group of young people who were passing by and who contacted the authorities.
