La Montpelliéraine Alexandra Mogg a créé son agence de management avec l’objectif d’offrir un accompagnement complet des joueurs.

It's a real challenge that Montpellier's Alexandra Mogg has set herself. A few months ago, the young woman began her career as a rugby player agent. After working in the National Rugby League and then in the legal services of the MHR, the woman who shares the life of Jesse Mogg, former Australian international XV and now coach of the Hérault club's hopefuls, has decided to shake up her professional life. “It's something that's been on my mind for a few years anyway, she explains.I think it's a profession where there are still things to contribute. It's not at the end of its development and there are things to do to de-demonize it a little."

Alexandra therefore went back to school to get her agent's diploma, which is mandatory to practice in France. A profession that is overwhelmingly male, there were only two women who took the first part of the exam, and only one left for the second…

Alexandra Mogg has her own vision of her new profession. A vision where she wants to put more humanity. “The main mission of an agent is to talk with clubs and players to put two people in touch. That is the very definition of the agent, she says. Then, he negotiates the contractual relationship between the two parties. On the other hand, the agent must not claim to have the skills in all the global support that an athlete can receive. He must not claim to have the skills in rugby, taxation, wealth management, mental support… Because this is not the case. No one is competent in all of this."

By creating the AM Pathways agency, she wanted to offer her future clients a whole team at their disposal. "I think there is really a role to play in providing 360-degree support to the client, but not in the hands of a single person", she continues.

The athlete and the extra-sporty

She surrounded herself with a whole team of specialists in these different fields. “There is the sporting performance and the extra-sporting aspect to support the players in a truly global project where, in fact, they will say to themselves: “Ok, I find myself in my career.” It makes sense to me.”

A reflection also coming from her personal experience. “Sometimes, the player faces situations for which he is not necessarily prepared. If he has this complete support, he knows that everything is organized around him”, she continues. She therefore brought on board a mental trainer, a rugby expert and a physical trainer, specialising in pregnancy and performance. Because in her project, Alexandra Mogg also focused on sportswomen, “I think there is work to be done on this. If women's rugby wants to evolve, people still need to come and see what's going on there.”

On the extra-sporting side, a firm specializing in tax and wealth management and a specialist in training. “The idea is to say that the dual project doesn't stop when you leave the training center. It must exist throughout your career. Either we know what we want to do after and we need training and this person will help us find the right training, funding, or we don't know and they can guide you”, assures Alexandra.

A support and a global view for athletes that has already won over the coach of the French team Gaëlle Mignot and the international third row of the MHR Romane Ménager.
