Neighborhood quarrel turns to tragedy: 19-year-old man stabbed to death in fight between two families

Samedi 21 septembre 2024 à Saint Priest, un jeune homme de 19 ans a été tué à l'arme blanche, tandis qu'un second a été gravement blessé dans le hall d'un immeuble. 

A 19-year-old man died this Saturday evening, September 23 in Saint-Priest following an altercation involving a knife. A second victim aged 20 was seriously injured in the leg, his life prognosis is however no longer engaged. According to information from the daily newspaper le Progrès confirmed by the Lyon prosecutor's office, the fight was linked to a neighbourhood dispute.

A fight in a building lobby 

On the evening of Saturday 21 September, the police intervened in a building for an altercation between two families. A fight then broke out in the lobby of the building, shortly after the police officers left, resulting in the death of the 19-year-old. He died at the scene.

On Sunday, September 22, four brothers aged 26 to 31 were arrested and taken into custody. However, one of them was able to leave later in the day. According to Le Parisien, the Lyon prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into voluntary homicide and attempted voluntary homicide. Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
