“A scar in the brain that wakes up regularly”: Michel Cymes looks back on his cancer and the psychological battle he waged

Already in 2022, the famous French doctor and surgeon Michel Cymes returned to his kidney cancer in the book "Nothing is impossible: my story could be yours. Facing Moulourd Achour in a show "Clique" broadcast last December, the sixty-year-old explained in particular why he had decided to keep it a secret from his family at first:

"It's not a matter of secrecy, it's that I continued to practice and I said to myself: "I'I don' ;every time I diagnose cancer in a patient, he says to me: 'Ah well, you know what it is, doctor". And then, I didn't want to be the spokesperson for all those who have cancer. I didn't want to talk about it. My children didn't know, my father didn't know and I didn't want to. I wanted to wait for the right moment to tell them by saying: "I am saved"", he explained.

"I believe very much in healing"

This January 25, on the set of the show "The original soundtrack", while Nagui asked him if he had already followed therapy, Michel Cymes replied that no, preferring to manage himself: "No, I did not follow therapy. Maybe I would have needed it because when I had cancer.

Adding: "I really believe in healing, even after cancer. I was extremely lucky to get through it and to have had the diagnosis in a completely crazy way and very early … You have a scar in your brain that wakes up regularly, but you want to eat life" .
