Cette semaine, la pluie et le vent feront leur grand retour en France après une semaine de douceur et d'accalmie. Dès mercredi 21 février 2024, de fortes perturbations sont attendues.

The spring winter we are experiencing is punctuated by episodes of rain and violent winds. This week, disruptions are announced throughout France. Showers, gusts, snow… we take stock of the upcoming weather.

Wind in the region from Monday

As of this Monday morning, note la Weather Channel, the region will be affected by significant gusts of wind. Mistral and tramontane will sweep the Mediterranean coast with peaks at 90 km/h.

Wednesday: bad weather returns

"A strong deterioration associated with a drop in temperatures will take place from Wednesday". After a fairly foggy start to the week, marked by some scattered rain, the weather will deteriorate significantly on Wednesday in the northwest of France, reports the weather forecast site.

"The weather will quickly deteriorate with sustained rain accompanied by stronger winds, first over Brittany, the Pays de la Loire, then between Normandy and Hauts-de-France in the afternoon, announces the Weather Channel. Light frosts are also expected in the south of the country.

Business at the end of the week

The small disturbances on Wednesday will be the precursor to a more intense episode. The Weather Channel fears a "radical change". And for good reason, the Atlantic disturbances will "sweep the entire country".

To be expected, rain will arrive from the north and go down to the Mediterranean, except in Roussillon where unfortunately, the drought persists. The gusts of wind will also strengthen, as will the cumulative rain.

From Friday, snow could fall in the Pyrenees and in the Alps above 1,000 meters above sea level.
